Welcome
"Friends in Deed" is a group of friends from high school. Last year we raised money for the Kariandusi Trust that supports school children and young people in Kenya. We held a number of fundraising events that were well supported by people from Debenham and the surrounding villages.
Our major event of the year – a 24 hour musicathon took place on between 9.30am 4th July and 9.30am on 5th July. We and many of our friends played or sang non-stop. It was an exhausting but exciting time. There are photos of the event on the musicathon page. This raised a total of £2065-74!
We also ran games stalls at the Crow's Hall Country Fair and at the Debenham Christmas Shopping event and went carol singing.
Over the whole year we have raised £2989-46 which will be put to good use by the Trust.
This year we are raising money for HOPS and the Helen and Douglas House Hospices.
Helen House provides respite and end of life care for children with life-shortening conditions, as well as support and friendship for the whole family. Douglas House does the same for young adults
HOPS is an activities based play scheme providing a wide range of specialist staffing, play equipment, activities and facilities, to enable children and young people with disabilities and additional needs access quality activities tailored to meet their need.
We intend to be just as successful with this year's fundraising to support these worthwhile activities.
